Oliver’s Story

Oliver
Domestic Shorthair
3 years, Male

My name is Oliver... and my foster family calls me O-V for short.

I had a really rough start in life, as I was on the streets and started getting very sick. Another cat attacked me and I ended up with FIV, but I survived a few hard winters. A nice man found me and called Next Chance Rescue for help.

I was near death with my red blood cells so low, they weren't sure I would make it, but guess what. I did! On Thanksgiving I got a double blood transfusion at a fancy hospital. I then went to recover with my foster family, where I learned to be a cat.

I am a very gentle boy who likes kisses and likes other cats and even tolerates dogs. I am feeling super healthy now and have turned into a big goofball according to my foster parents. I even like to rub up against them for pets and play like a normal 3.5 year old kitty!

I am very handsome, with bright green eyes. My foster mama always tells me this. I don't LOVE to be picked up but am learning now that it's actually nice. They seem to work on this with me and now that I let my guard down, I don't really mind it.

I'm looking for a family of my own though. I will be a great companion and even cuddle with you at night when we sleep eventually. Let me know if you can make all my dreams come true!
